About the College
Rani Anna Government College for Women, Tirunelveli was started in the year 1970 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University which educates women from socially downtrodden and economically deprived sections of the society. The college is situated at t he outskirts of Tirunelveli on the Tenkasi Road nearby Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in a sprawling ground of 40 acres. At present the college is providing quality education through 15 UG departments, 12 PG departments, 4 M.Phil courses, 5 Research departments, five departments work on shifts and seven departments impart Higher Education through Tamil Medium too. The college is reaccredited with B by NAAC. The motto of the college is “Let the darkness of mind depart and rays of wisdom linger”. The vision of the college is to impart literacy to students of economically backward rural area and weaker sections of the society, the mission of the college is to improve the lives of rural girls and to make them women graduates as agents for social change.
The role of IQAC
Since quality enhancement is a continuous process in educational institutions, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work towards realisation of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. To achieve the goal of quality education, the IQAC of Rani Anna Government College for Women striving hard to bring out the talents of staff and students to fulfill its mission of spreading the light of higher education among rural poor students. As a mark of imparting research oriented education, the IQAC takes several measures. This workshop is arranged to equip the scholars and teachers towards quality article writing and to motivate them to publish more papers.
About LaTeX Software
LaTeX is a typesetting system that is extremely useful for typing and formatting scientific documents. Typing in math equations is very intuitive and easy in LaTeX. One of the biggest advantages in using this software is that the user need not concentrate on the layout of the document because LaTeX takes care of all that by itself, resulting in really good looking and cleanly professional documents. LaTeX is widely used in academia which can be used as a standalone document preparation system, or as an intermediate format. The typesetting system offers programmable desktop publishing features and extensive facilities for automating most aspects of typesetting and desktop publishing, including numbering and cross-referencing of tables and figures, chapter and section headings, the inclusion of graphics, page layout, indexing and bibliographies. The LaTeX system is a markup language that also handles typesetting and rendering. LaTeX is used for the communication and publication of scientific documents in many fields, including mathematics, physics, computer science, statistics, economics, Commerce and political science. It also has a prominent role in the preparation and publication of books and articles that contain complex multilingual materials.
